Twin Lamb Disease. (Also known as Pregnancy Toxaemia) is a disease of both undernourished and occasionally, overfat ewes, carrying twins or triplets. As the unborn lambs' growth rate accelerates during the last few weeks of pregnancy, the ewe's own fat reserves are broken down in her liver into units called ketones.
